Who is SATS?
SATS is a voluntary, autonomous, non-sexist, non-racial, non-profitmaking organisation for peri-operative nurses. SATS provides assistance to its members by way of congresses, social meetings and travel grants, with the goal of raising the standard of operating theatre nursing in South Africa.

The SATS journal, established in 1976, is the official publication of the society. It provides personnel in the operating room and related services with original, practical information based on scientific fact and principles.

SATS is built on a foundation of individual branches located across the country. At regular branch meetings you have the opportunity to meet with peri-operative nursing colleagues, learn from them, and discuss and take action on issues that affect your daily practice.

SATS can help you reach your full potential as a peri-operative nurse!
