VDH International All-Breeds Show

ADRK Special Breed Show

VDH All-Breeds Show Catalog Cover

On the weekend of 2nd and 3rd March 2002 I visited the city of Munich, where the ADRK LG  Bavaria-South were hosting a Special Breed Show as part of the VDH International All-Breeds Show.

Rottweilers were exhibited on Sunday, 3rd March 2002.  Judging started at 10h00.  The judge was Mr Edgar Hellmann.

I stayed in a Bed and Breakfast in Karlsfeld, north of Munich, so that my traveling time to the Olympia Park was short.  I received excellent directions from Mr Max Berger, who gave me the button on the day of the show.  Thank you, Mr Berger!

I also met Anton Spindler again, whom we had last  visited at his training club in August 2000 as part of our IFR tour.

Rottweiler - One of the oldest german dog breeds - We are NOT fighting dogs!

Rottweilers were exhibited in ring 20 in the small Olympia Hall.  This was an indoor hall, with the judging ring measuring about 7 by 12 meters in size.  The floor was slippery, with only a single carpet runner down the center of the ring.  I was unfamiliar with these show conditions, and thought them not ideal for exhibiting a working dog.  Nevertheless, it proved a worthwhile learning experience.

Unfortunately I did not take my video camera along on this trip, so that I cannot show any pictures of the participating Rottweilers.  Two of the winners took part in the ADRK Frühjahrskörung 2001, though.  You will find pictures of them if you follow their link.

The placings on the day were as follows:

Fanto vom Kümmelsee (104742) won this class with a SG1 grading.  A promising dog showing strong bones.
