Eeva at 18 months doing what she enjoys best - Working !  These pictures were taken at night during one of our club's training classes.  Please excuse the poor quality.
Eeva at 18 months doing what she enjoys best - Working !  Eeva still is young and learning how to bite correctly in the center of the sleeve.  Vanessa is handling her in a harness, so that there is no  pressure on Eeva's neck and throat.
Eeva at 18 months doing what she enjoys best - Working !  Eeva is being trained for a dog sport known as IPO (Internationale Prüfungsordnung) or VPG (Vielseitigkeitsprüfung für Gebrauchshunde, previously known as Schutzhund).  This sport is NOT police work.  There are competition rules to follow.  The dog may ONLY bite the sleeve, and NOT the helper.
Eeva at 18 months doing what she enjoys best - Working !  Ideally the bite should be full and calm.
Eeva at 18 months doing what she enjoys best - Working !  Eeva must also not be stick-shy in later competition work, so she is exposed to this threat by the helper from a young age.
Eeva at 18 months doing what she enjoys best - Working !  Eeva has to learn to improve her bite.

Eeva at 18 months doing what she enjoys best - Working !  Eeva must also not be concerned about working close to the helper.
Eeva at 18 months doing what she enjoys best - Working !  Hey mom, look what I got!
Eeva at 18 months doing what she enjoys best - Working !  Eeva is taught to bark for her bite.

Eeva at 18 months doing what she enjoys best - Working !  Maybe one day she'll pull down the helper in a competition.  (Maybe the oaf will trip!)  She must learn to stay on the sleeve, while he gets up and continues running.
Eeva at 18 months doing what she enjoys best - Working !  It's important to end the class on a positive high note.  Rather keep the training short, before the dog becomes tired.
Eeva at 18 months doing what she enjoys best - Working !  Off to the car with her reward.
Eeva at 18 months doing what she enjoys best - Working !  Our dogs enjoy this training as much as tracking and obedience.  Once we get home they fall asleep happy and content.  Remember that Rottweilers are working dogs.  They enjoy being active and having a task to do.
