FULLY DESIGNED AND ERECTED UNITS
At Designer Log Homes we specialisein the design, manufacture and erection of log homes and other buildings to our clinets' requirements. Our brochure and website reflects popular designs tested in various projects.
You are welcome to submit your own design and requirements to our design team for a quotation.
THE TIMBER USED IN OUR LOG HOMES
The logs are manufactured fom Pinus Radiata, a slow growing species from the KNYSNA plantations. The timber is well known for its density, structural strength and durability.
MANUFACTURING PROCESS
The construction items are pre-manufactured in our factory in Weavind Park, Pretoria and then transported to the building site for erection by our construction teams.
TREATMENT OF TIMBER
Logs and other components are pressure treated in vacuum cylinders with TBTO and CCA against decay and all insects, including termites, attack, according to SABS requirements.
FIRE TESTED
Fire tested to SABS 082/2000
WEATHERPROOFING
Approved for water penetration to SABS 082/2000
MAINTENANCE
Minimal maintenance is required due to the treatment of the timber. 18-24 Months maintenance with a reputable timber outdoor sealer is advised.
APPROVAL BY MUNICIPALITIES AND LOCAL AUTHORITIES
We submit building plans to municipalities and local authorities for approval. Timber structures to SABS 082/2000 are accepted by all municipalities and local authorities.
