Extract from the Dobermann Breed Standard

"Medium temperament and medium sharpness (altertness) is desired. A medium threshold of irritation is required with a good contact to the owner. Easy to train, the Dobermann enjoys working and shall have good working abiltity, courage and hardness. The particular values of self confidence and intrepidness are required and also adaptability and attention to fit the social environment."

Our Dobermann Training School has been in operation for three years as a part of the SouthernBell Cynology Center run by Johan and Edith Gallant. Good progress has been made in the schooling of our young dogs in the disciplines of Tracking, Obedience and Manwork.

All litters at SouthernBell are tested for temperament. Puppies that meet our criteria are schooled from an early age. They are put through the Dog Mentality Assessment and finally the Apptitude Test. Our breeding program benefits from this selection process. When possible we do the Dobermann Vereins's ZTP test. We are confident it has and will assist materially in our objective of producing:
